Contact Watchtower Investigations Whatever it is, it stays between us.

You do not need to know what the service is called, have documents ready, or be certain you want to hire anyone. Call or email and a licensed Tennessee investigator will tell you what can realistically be established, roughly what it would cost, and whether an investigation is even the right instrument for your situation. Sometimes it is not, and you will hear that too.

  • Your inquiry reaches a licensed investigator, not a call center or a lead broker
  • Most calls answered during business hours; urgent matters prioritized and returned quickly
  • No obligation to proceed, and no pressure if you decide not to

Getting in touch

A direct line to a licensed Tennessee investigator

Most people calling an investigator for the first time open with an apology — for not knowing the terminology, for the situation being complicated, for wasting our time. None of that is necessary. You know what is wrong; working out what it is called and whether it can be proved is our job, and it is the entire purpose of a consultation.

Phone is fastest. You will speak with an investigator who can ask the three or four questions that usually determine whether a case is straightforward or difficult, and you will get a realistic answer in the same conversation rather than a callback from a salesperson. If you would rather put it in writing first — which is often easier when the subject is painful, or when you need to be careful about when you can talk — email works just as well.

Everything you say is treated in confidence. One honest caveat, because it matters and most agencies do not mention it: investigator-client communication is not legally privileged the way attorney-client communication is. If your situation is likely to end up in litigation, having your attorney engage us generally brings the work inside attorney work product. We will raise that at the consultation if it applies to you.

There is no obligation attached to reaching out, and no case is too small to ask about. A fifteen-minute conversation that ends with us telling you not to hire an investigator is a perfectly normal outcome and costs you nothing.

Who we help

Who gets in touch with us

Four kinds of caller, and none of them need to arrive knowing the right words.

People with a personal question

A relationship, a relative who stopped answering, a suspicion about someone close. Usually the hardest call to make and the one we take most carefully.

Attorneys and legal staff

Counsel needing investigation, witness work or service of process on a matter with a deadline. See For Attorneys for how firm engagements are structured.

Business owners and HR

Leadership dealing with theft, misconduct or a vendor problem that cannot be investigated from inside the organization.

Claims professionals

Carriers, TPAs and adjusters assigning claimant activity documentation or loss verification in the field.

What’s included

Ways to reach us

Every route lands with a licensed investigator. None of them land in a queue.

01

Call (629) 310-8667

The fastest option, and the one that resolves the most in a single conversation. You speak with an investigator who can tell you immediately whether your situation is straightforward or complicated.

02

Email contact@delatorgroup.com

Better when you want to set the situation down carefully, or when you need to control exactly when a conversation happens. We reply to arrange a confidential call.

03

Use the form on this page

It builds an email in your own mail app from what you select and type. Nothing is transmitted until you press send, so you can review or abandon it entirely.

04

Ask your attorney to contact us

Where litigation is likely, this is usually the right route rather than the polite one — it generally brings the work inside attorney work product.

05

Tell us how to reach you back

If discretion matters, give us a safe number or email and the hours that are safe to use it. We will follow that exactly.

06

Ask for a specific service

If you already know what you need, say so and we will quote it directly. The services overview covers every service with its own pricing discussion.

Confidentiality

What confidentiality means here, and where its limits are

Most agencies say 'completely confidential' and stop. The honest version has edges worth knowing before you decide how much to share on a first call.

What you can rely on

  • We do not discuss client matters, confirm that someone is a client, or share files with anyone
  • Your inquiry reaches an investigator directly and is not sold, brokered or shared as a lead
  • We will follow your instructions exactly on how and when it is safe to contact you
  • Deciding not to hire us ends it; you will not be chased with follow-up calls
  • We can work through your attorney so the engagement falls under attorney work product

What we will not pretend about

  • Investigator-client communication is not legally privileged the way attorney-client communication is
  • A court can compel testimony or records from us, as it can from any witness
  • We cannot promise an outcome, a timeline, or that the answer will be the one you want
  • Certain disclosures — a child at risk, a credible threat to life — we will act on
  • We will not take a case whose goal is to locate someone who is hiding from the person asking

That last line is worth stating plainly. Locate requests are screened, protective orders are checked as a matter of course, and where the pattern suggests a subject is avoiding the person in front of us for their own safety, we decline and say why. It costs us work and it is not negotiable.

How it works

What happens after you reach out

Four steps, and you can stop at any of them without owing anything.

You make contact

Call or email with as much or as little detail as you are comfortable giving. You do not need names, documents or a theory of what happened.

Free · No obligation

A confidential conversation

An investigator listens, asks the few questions that determine difficulty, and explains what can lawfully be established in your situation — including when the answer is 'not this way'.

Usually 15 to 30 minutes

A written scope and quote

If it makes sense to proceed, we put the approach, the cost and what you will receive in writing, so there are no open-ended hours.

You approve before anything starts

Work begins

Your case moves into the field with updates at intervals we agree, rather than silence until a report lands.

Timeline set at scoping

Delivery and next steps

A written report with the supporting evidence, a conversation about what it does and does not establish, and a handoff to Delator Field Services if service of process follows.

Testimony available where needed
Before you call

What helps to have ready, though none of it is required

You can call with none of this. Each item just shortens the conversation and sharpens the estimate.

  • A rough timeline — when it started, or when you first noticed. Approximate is fine
  • The county or city involved, even if that is all you know about location
  • Any deadline you are working against: a hearing, a filing, a claim date
  • Whether an attorney is already involved, and whether they should be the point of contact
  • Names and dates of birth if you are comfortable sharing them — not needed up front
  • Anyone who absolutely must not learn you contacted us, and a safe way to reach you back

Questions people have before they reach out

Is my call or email really confidential?

We do not discuss client matters, confirm that someone is a client, or share files, and your inquiry is never sold or brokered as a lead. The honest caveat, which most agencies leave out, is that investigator-client communication is not legally privileged the way attorney-client communication is — a court can compel testimony or records from us as it can from any witness. Where that matters, having your attorney engage us generally brings the work inside attorney work product, and we will raise it if it applies to you.

Do I need to know what service I need before I call?

No, and most callers do not. People know what is wrong, not what our industry calls it. Describe the situation in plain language and we will identify which service fits, what can lawfully be established, and roughly what it costs. A caller who says 'my husband is lying about where he goes on Thursdays' has given us more useful information than one who asks for 'surveillance services', because the first tells us what actually needs proving.

Will someone call me back the same day?

Most inquiries are answered the same business day, and calls placed during business hours are usually answered directly rather than returned. Urgent matters — an evidence preservation deadline, a hearing this week, a subject about to leave the state — are prioritized and returned quickly outside those hours. If you have a hard deadline, say so in your first sentence and it will be treated accordingly.

Can I email instead of calling?

Yes, and for some situations it is genuinely better. Writing it out helps when the subject is painful and you would rather not improvise, and it lets you control exactly when a conversation happens — which matters if someone in your household should not overhear it. Send a summary and tell us when and how it is safe to reply. We will follow that instruction precisely rather than calling at a convenient moment for us.

Is there any obligation once I contact Watchtower?

None. The consultation is free, nothing is owed for it, and deciding not to proceed ends the matter — you will not be chased with follow-up calls or added to anything. A meaningful share of our consultations end with us telling the caller that an investigation is not the right answer for their situation. That is a normal outcome, not a failed sales call.

What if my situation is outside Middle or West Tennessee?

Still worth calling. Middle and West Tennessee are worked directly out of Nashville, and the rest of the state is covered through Delator Group's chapter officer network, which reaches all ninety-five counties. Records-based work such as skip tracing has effectively nationwide reach. If your matter sits somewhere we genuinely cannot cover well, we will say so rather than stretching to take it and delivering thin work.

Can I talk to you if I am already working with an attorney?

Yes, and in most cases your attorney should be the one to engage us. Work performed at counsel's direction generally falls within attorney work product, which protects the investigation from discovery by the other side — work you commission personally usually does not carry that protection. You are welcome to make the first call yourself; we will simply suggest looping counsel in before any work starts, and we are happy to speak with them directly.

What if someone in my house cannot know I contacted you?

Tell us that first, before anything else, and we will work around it. Give us a safe number or email address and the hours it is safe to use, and we will follow that exactly — no calls outside those windows, no voicemails if you say not to, no correspondence to a shared address. This is a routine request in domestic matters and we treat it as a hard constraint rather than a preference.

How much does a consultation cost?

Nothing. The consultation exists so both sides can work out whether there is a case worth running, and charging for it would defeat that. What it produces is a realistic picture: which service applies, what the likely range of outcomes is including the unhelpful ones, roughly what it would cost, and whether the cost is proportionate to what the answer is worth to you. If it is not, we will say so.

What can you not help with?

Anything requiring bank records, text messages, email content, phone records or sealed records without lawful process — those are legal limits, not pricing tiers, and no licensed agency can do them. We also decline locate requests where the pattern suggests the subject is avoiding the person asking for their own safety, and matters better served by a police report than a private investigation. In those cases we try to point you somewhere more useful.

Do you take small cases?

Yes. A single-day activity check, one locate, one service of process — these are routine work, not favours. What we will not do is take a small case at a price that cannot deliver a usable result, which is why scoping happens before money does. If your matter genuinely needs less than you expected, the quote will reflect that rather than padding to a minimum.

What should I not do before calling?

Avoid confronting the subject, which changes behavior and destroys evidence faster than anything else. Avoid installing tracking apps or devices, accessing accounts that are not yours, or asking friends to follow someone — all of these create legal exposure for you and can taint what we later gather lawfully. Do not delete anything. If you have already done any of it, tell us; it changes our approach but it rarely ends the case.

How quickly can work start after I decide to proceed?

For most Middle Tennessee work, within a few business days, which allows the pre-surveillance research that keeps field hours from being spent confirming an address. Urgent matters are scheduled same or next day where an investigator is available. Because Watchtower exists specifically as a standing hub rather than an overflow valve, availability is rarely the limiting factor — more often it is how well-defined the question is.

The first conversation costs you nothing.
